How XRGuide Curates
The plain-English version of what we list, who reviews it, and how we keep the guide honest. If a listing doesn't meet these standards, we don't publish it.
Human-in-the-loop review
Every submission — worlds, events, news, artist claims — is reviewed by a person before it appears in the guide. Nothing auto-publishes. Reviewers check that the experience is real, reachable, well-made, and appropriate for a broad audience.
Editorial standards
Listings need a working URL, an identifiable creator, a clear description, and an authentic cover image (real screenshots over stock or generic gradients). We de-duplicate: one entry per experience across platforms.
XR Guild ethics as a reference
XRGuide is independent from XR Guild and not operated by them. We reference the public XR Guild Principles as one input to our editorial standards for safety, honesty, and respect for participants.
Accessibility-first
We surface real access features on each listing — captions, hand tracking, seated mode, low-motion, screen-reader support — rather than a generic badge. Accessibility questions route to a real human, not a form-only inbox.
Safety & exclusions
Content must be appropriate for ages 13+. Platforms with weak moderation for a mixed-age audience (currently Second Life and ChilloutVR) are excluded. Listings that break, become misleading, or drift from these standards can be removed.
Creator control
Verified creators can edit and update their own entries after review. A moderator confirms significant edits before they publish. Removal on request is always available.
