    Virtual Worlds Museum

A cultural nexus for the spatial web — preserving virtual worlds across platforms

The Virtual Worlds Museum™ is a cultural and research institution focused on preserving and documenting virtual world platforms as lasting expressions of human creativity, social interaction, and technological innovation. At the center of their work is the Teleportal — an interactive gateway spanning WebXR, Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, and Pico. XRGuide's first featured sponsor and preservation partner.

    How we collaborate

As XRGuide's first featured sponsor, the Virtual Worlds Museum helps us surface legacy worlds, retired platforms, and preservation-worthy experiences worth highlighting in our catalog. The Teleportal team curates collections and flags upcoming exhibitions and events for the news and calendar.

VWM is also a core collaborator on the MetaTraversal series and on XRGuide's portal crawls — co-hosting multi-world tours, museum nights, and archival showcases that connect today's creators to the worlds that came before. VWM nominates curators and guides into the XRGuide program, and their Julian Reyes contributes ongoing commentary on platform sunsets and community continuity.
